Ludwig Drilling LLC is a proud member of the Shaft Drillers International Family of Companies (SDI) based in Castle Rock, Colorado. Ludwig Drilling provides foundation drilling and ground stabilization solutions to the Rocky Mountain and Desert Southwest regions of the US, including: Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, and Texas.
Department Operations
Status Hourly (Non‑Exempt)/At‑Will
Rate of Compensation $20.00 to $25.00 per hour based on applicable skillset and experience.
Supervisor Superintendent
Purpose The Laborer will work to support operational objectives under the direction of the Superintendent by performing various general labor duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Attend and actively participate in safety meetings.
Work as part of a crew and take direction from supervisors.
Complete assigned work activities in compliance with applicable OSHA and Company safety requirements.
Focus on daily and weekly goals for the project with a high level of attention to detail.
Lift and carry tools and materials.
Flag traffic.
Rig loads and signal equipment operators.
Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
Assist with material handling and storage as required.
Perform general clean up around the job site.
Safely utilize hand tools to complete assigned tasks as required.
Operate various construction instruments to achieve proper layout and elevation.
Read, interpret, and follow plans, specifications, and other contract related documents.
Stock trucks with material commonly used on projects daily.
All other duties as assigned by Management.
Experience 0-3 years of field experience or previous general labor experience.
Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of industry safety standards is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Ability to work for extended periods of time in adverse weather conditions.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, equipment.
Ability to thoroughly follow directions given by supervisors to complete assigned tasks.
Ability to work as part of a crew and to follow work orders or receive instructions.
Ability to focus on daily and weekly goals for the project.
Ability to work in compliance with applicable OSHA and Company safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel‑toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
Walking, stepping, climbing or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, and normally involves physically getting into and out of equipment through the use of vertical mounted ladders up to and including 10’ or more in height.
Visually seeing equipment operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for long periods of time.
Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
Climbing vertical ladders.
Working at elevated heights.
Lifting up to and including fifty (50) lb. objects as required.
Carrying up to and including fifty (50) lb. objects as required.
Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to the elements.
Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident.
Exposure to working outdoors in all‑weather conditions.
Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required.
Licenses or Certifications
Valid driver’s license, CDL is a plus.
Education High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, but not required.
Travel Travel is required.
