As a Maggie™ Court Reporter, you will maintain the official written record of proceedings, ensuring accurate, real‑time capture of spoken word for diverse cases. This salaried, benefits‑eligible staff position offers career growth and advancement through tiered levels based on experience and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the “keeper of the record” for deposition and hearing proceedings.
Administer the oath to witnesses prior to proceedings.
Monitor and edit real‑time transcription using Maggie™ proprietary software to guarantee a verbatim written record.
Protect the official record by intervening against crosstalk when necessary.
Gather and preserve case information, participants, and exhibits needed for the final transcript.
Manage transcript delivery timelines and client communication to ensure timely delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams to meet quality standards.
Finalize and certify the transcript as an accurate, true record of the proceeding.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
Notary Public certificate required; assistance provided.
Court Reporting Certification encouraged; assistance provided.
Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with computers.
Ability to concentrate for extended periods, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
Flexible to a hybrid work schedule with a mix of remote and in‑person work.
Compensation Starting salary of
$50,000
per year. The salary position within the range is based on education, qualifications, experience, performance, and other factors.
