Job Description The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle, playing a pivotal role in speed, quality and customer excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure consistent execution of the WOW operating plan.
Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
Use various tools to repair vehicle sections.
Hammers out dents, applies filler and resins.
Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields.
Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
Weld and fit parts; prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines; inspect vehicles after repair.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills and Abilities
Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
Work well with other repairers in a shop.
Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
Proficient in using trade tools.
Other Requirements
Work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
