Underground Utility Locators

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Drive a company vehicle directly from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocates.
Utilize mapping tools and locating equipment to locate underground utilities, including electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
Indicate utility locations with paint, flags, and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or other authorities.
Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs per the rotation schedule.

Computer skills
Valid driver’s license in applicable state
Ability to work overtime when needed
Subject to Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and pre‑employment drug screening
Self‑manage and communicate with supervisors and clients in a timely manner
Physical Demands
Drive 50 to 300+ miles daily as needed within the geographic area
Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day
Stand and walk lengthy distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather
Sit for long periods of time while driving
Lift and/or move 50 to 150 pounds
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Education and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Driver’s License (required)
Computer skills – 1 year (preferred)
Utility locating – 1 year (preferred)
Work Location Multiple locations

10 hour shift
Monday to Friday
On‑call
