Lead Pastor – Church of the Cross (Fort Myers, FL)
The Church of the Cross is a non‑denominational, Christ‑centered, Bible‑based church located on Daniel’s Parkway in Fort Myers, FL. We serve an average of 75–120 worshipers per weekend, with a strong emphasis on discipleship, outreach, and community service. Our 8.5 acre campus is debt free and features a worship center, chapel, thrift store, and community center.
Job Overview
Preach the Word of God, make disciples, and equip the saints for ministry.
Lead the worship, teaching, and pastoral staff with character, integrity, and a love for Jesus and others.
Serve as the shepherd, preacher, and relational leader of the congregation.
Maintain a strong walk with Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
Requirements
Between 35 and 60 years of age.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher is a plus.
5 to 10 years of experience as a Lead Pastor in a growing church.
Strong biblical knowledge, application to everyday life, spiritual nourishment, humor, and real‑life illustrations in sermons.
Shepherd, preacher, teacher, relational, creative visionary gifts and strengths.
Preferred Components of a Sermon
Strong biblical references and knowledge.
Application to everyday life and spiritual nourishment.
Humor and personal or real‑life illustrations.
