Salary Range : $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly
Job Summary:
The Class D Driver is responsible for safely transporting essential items to and from Hickman's Egg Ranch locations using light-duty vehicles and designated farm equipment. This includes delivering packaging materials, eggs, tools, and supplies, as well as operating load-alls, roll-offs, and other farm machinery as needed. The driver ensures timely, safe, and efficient movement of products and equipment while upholding Hickman's standards for safety, reliability, and professionalism.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Safely operate Class D vehicles, including vans, pickup trucks, and other light-duty fleet vehicles, following all state transportation regulations.
Operate farm equipment such as load-alls, roll-offs, small tractors, utility vehicles, and other machinery as assigned.
Transport eggs, packaging materials, tools, small equipment, and other essential items to and from Hickman's facilities and client destinations.
Assist in moving farm materials, waste, pallets, and equipment using roll-offs and load-all machinery.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on both vehicles and farm equipment; report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Maintain accurate logs and records of delivery times, mileage, fuel usage, and equipment operation according to company policy.
Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and efficient movement of materials.
Load and unload cargo safely, securing materials properly and ensuring the integrity of all transported items.
Work closely with dispatchers, supervisors, and farm teams to coordinate equipment usage and delivery needs.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicles and equipment, adhering to all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Represent Hickman's Family Farms professionally on the road and throughout all farm locations.
Assist with training new drivers and equipment operators, sharing knowledge of safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications Requirements and Skills
Valid Class D Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass required company physical and drug screenings.
Minimum of 1–2 years of driving or equipment operation experience preferred (farm, construction, warehouse, or transportation experience is a plus).
Familiarity with basic state transportation laws and safe vehicle operation.
Experience operating
farm equipment
such as load-alls, roll-offs, utility vehicles, or small tractors preferred.
Excellent communication skills in English for coordinating with supervisors, dispatch, and team members.
Physical ability to lift up to
50 pounds , handle cargo, and perform loading/unloading tasks.
Strong attention to detail for completing logs, recording mileage/fuel, and conducting equipment inspections.
Reliable, self-motivated, and safety-focused with a consistent record of punctuality and responsibility.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to load/unload cargo.
Comfortable working in various weather conditions and temperatures.
Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
