It is designed to introduce students and aspiring law enforcement professionals to public safety operations in a healthcare academic environment. Under close supervision, cadets perform a variety of support duties and receive exposure to the complexities of law enforcement in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary medical campus.## Education & Experience**Education and Experience Required:**High school diploma/GED.

Must be 18 years of age.**Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations Required:**Valid US Driver’s LicenseCompletion of a pre-employment drug screen required.## Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**Strong interest in healthcare security, law enforcement, or public service careers. Basic understanding of medical center operations and visitor management principles. Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual ability is a plus. Capacity to maintain composure in fast-paced, high-stress environments. Familiarity with confidentiality requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA) is strongly preferred, and Proficient in basic computer use and mobile communication devices.**Responsibilities:*** Support administrative and operational functions including dispatch assistance, report processing, records management, and credentialing.* Observe sworn officers during routine patrols, patient safety escorts, and response to critical incidents within inpatient, outpatient, and research facilities.* Provide customer service and wayfinding support for patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a visible, professional presence.* Assist with community policing initiatives, outreach events, and security surveys under guidance.* Participate in scenario-based training, emergency drills, and wellness/fitness development activities.* Monitor video surveillance systems, access control points, and security systems under supervision.* Assist in the inspection and stocking of police vehicles, first aid kits, and specialized equipment.* Uphold departmental confidentiality standards, especially regarding HIPAA-protected environments.* The duties listed are general in nature and are examples of the duties and responsibilities performed and are not meant to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
