Overview Resident Care Aide (RCA) – Provide personal care under the supervision of licensed nurses, helping to ensure the highest quality of resident care at all times. CNAs, HHAs, and PCAs are encouraged to apply.

As an RCA, you’ll provide personal care under the supervision of licensed nurses, helping to ensure the highest quality of resident care at all times.

Responsibilities
Assist residents with Daily Living Activities such as meal assistance, grooming, medication management, showering, dressing/undressing, toileting, and skin care.
Move and walk quickly and steadily in an emergency situation.
Assist with wheelchair transport of resident(s).
Apply and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Respond immediately to residents’ requests.
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) per their plan of care and individual preferences, including bathing, dressing, eating, exercise, housekeeping, meal preparation, medical supplies/equipment, positioning, grooming, toileting, transferring, personal emergency response, routine skin care, and laundering of clothing.
Notify supervisor of changes in residents’ conditions or needs.
Receive reports about residents from nurses prior to providing care.
Follow the plan of care for daily living and personal care services.
Inform the nurse after providing care and weighing residents as required.
Maintain facility standards for resident care and report equipment or safety issues to the nurse.
Complete at least 12 hours of in‑service programs annually.
Show respect for residents’ personal possessions and maintain an orderly environment.
Assist with dining room service for all meals and maintain service standards.
Attend facility and staff meetings and required in‑services.
Generate and develop ideas that improve the quality of care or increase productivity and satisfaction.
Perform all duties according to safety rules, ensuring the safety of staff, residents, and visitors.
Exhibit the highest level of customer service toward residents, staff, and visitors.
Respond to changing situations flexibly and reprioritize work as necessary.
Utilize the electronic timekeeping system as directed.
Arrive to work on time, regularly, and work as scheduled.
Recognize and follow the dress code, wearing a name tag at all times.
Follow policy and procedure regarding electronic devices, computers, and tablets.
Support and abide by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Adhere to Elderwood’s business code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff, or Administrator.
Qualifications
Age 18 or older; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Completion of Resident Care Assistant (RCA) training on Relias: 22 modules with a score of 80% or better on post tests within 21 days of start date.
Maintain Certificate of Completion in the staff file.
Complete 5 days (40 hrs) of orientation before working independently.
Complete orientation (40 hrs) concurrently with RCA modules on Relias.
Work independently after completing orientation and RCA competency; continue completing Relias modules and post tests within 21 days from start date.
