Job Summary Daily operation of the Kennel Facility.

The Details

Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Pay: $15.55 per hour

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

Achieve consistent customer satisfaction by greeting and assisting guests in a welcoming and attentive manner, with attention to individual needs.

Register guest animals in a courteous, prompt and efficient manner.

Admit and release animals according to company policy, denying admittance, when necessary, based on health concerns or expired vaccine records.

Provide care to kennel occupants such as feeding, walking, cleaning runs.

Perform tasks as assigned by Kennel Lead.

Maintain security and cleanliness of kennel facility, inside and out.

Ability and willingness to cross train with other positions within the Rooms Department as needed (Porters, Housekeeping, Front Desk or Switchboard as business volumes dictate).

Cooperate with National Park Service (NPS) Law Enforcement in boarding stray animals found by NPS and brought to the kennel in alignment with company policy and procedure.

Follow Xanterra security policies and procedures in the handling of company and guest information.

Handle guest accounts properly including recording of charges and collection of payment.

Maintain bank with accuracy and security. Follow all shift end procedures regarding proper bank balancing and deposits.

Handle routine guest complaints when possible, elevating more challenging situations to a supervisor.

Maintain advance reservations for kennel bookings.

Maintain good relations with the National Park Service and Coconino County Health Services in matters pertaining to inspections, licensing, and rabies control.

Adhere to all safety, risk management and environmental policies while performing tasks.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous kennel experience and/or knowledge of kennel operations.

Demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse customer base in a professional and courteous manner.

Cash and credit card receipt handling experience.

Good verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements Occasionally: Sit, reach, climb, crawl, squat/kneel, lift/carry up to 100lbs, push/pull up to 100lbs. Frequently: Stand, handle, bend, lift/carry up to 20lbs, push/pull up to 40lbs. Constantly: Walk.
