Job Title Sheet Metal Mechanic
Job Summary Responsible for all aspects of HVAC‑Sheet Metal functions including performing and coordinating the installation, repair and service of HVAC‑Sheet Metal systems on a commercial job site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs various field and shop tasks associated with the HVAC sheet metal trade.
Installs, renovates, and repairs commercial/industrial HVAC air distribution systems.
Organizes material and manpower needs for jobs/projects.
Understands correct application of field and shop equipment to job completion.
Layouts duct work (as well as fittings and specialty items) to accommodate job specifications.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
At least 5+ years of practical HVAC sheet metal fabrication experience in a shop and/or field setting.
Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade and general construction environment.
Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the sheet metal trade.
Ability to train apprentices.
Physical activities include standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders, walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. are required.
