At our Plansee site in Franklin, USA, we transform semi‑finished molybdenum and tungsten products into complex components, leveraging decades of precision manufacturing and engineering excellence. Position type: Hourly. Shift: 1st Shift Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
Responsibilities
Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and interpret GD&T. Operate computer‑controlled lathe and/or milling machinery, set up, and program editing to produce advanced routine/nonroutine parts and components. Perform machining operations on CNC milling machines, including multiple setups, in‑place machining of fixtures, and debugging first‑run programs. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures and cutting tools using hand tools and tool‑length offset equipment. Perform work‑piece in‑process inspection by checking accuracy against blueprints/specifications using advanced gaging techniques. Collaborate with machinists, planners, programmers, and engineers to evaluate needs, troubleshoot problems, and recommend solutions. Other duties as required. Qualifications
High School diploma or GED; 5 to 7 years of machining experience in a manufacturing production environment. Advanced knowledge of CNC machine concepts, practices, and procedures, including editing computer‑aided software and applications. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques. High proficiency in reading and interpreting machining and fabrication drawings. Solid math, geometry, and trigonometry skills and understanding GD&T. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and teamwork ability. Benefits
