A well-established, privately owned luxury residential homebuilder in Florida is seeking a skilled and self-motivated AutoCAD Drafter / CAD Technician to join their in-house design team. This role supports both production and custom single-family homes and offers long-term stability with a builder known for quality and customization.
The ideal candidate will have residential drafting experience, be highly detail-oriented, and be comfortable collaborating across sales, design, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update master residential floor plans
Produce accurate construction documents for both production and custom homes, including lot-specific plan drawings generated from customer option selections
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Development teams to create lot-fit matrices for new homes
Perform ongoing plan revisions to customized drawings to accommodate customer requests
Maintain accurate records of revised construction details
Manage and update DWF files of customized plans for printing and distribution
Support sales staff in the development of customized home designs while meeting required timelines
Follow internal CAD standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality construction documents
Manage multiple tasks and meet scheduled deadlines
Apply working knowledge of current Florida Building Codes
Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years of residential drafting experience
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2019 or later)
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment
Associate’s degree or technical degree in drafting, preferably with a focus on architecture
Prior experience with custom or semi-custom home design is a plus
