We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Electrical Drafter
Auto CAD to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and revising complex electrical drawings and schematics using CAD software, working closely with engineers, project managers, and other design professionals to support the development of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules based on engineering specifications.
Collaborate with electrical engineers and project teams to interpret design concepts and convert them into accurate drawings.
Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and client specifications.
Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes or field revisions.
Maintain drawing records and documentation according to company and project requirements.
Coordinate with other drafters and disciplines (mechanical, civil, structural) to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Support project submittals, as‑built drawings, and documentation packages.
Participate in quality control reviews of electrical drawings and support audits when necessary.
Assist in standardizing drafting procedures and improving drafting workflows and templates.
Qualifications
Associate degree or certification in Drafting, Electrical Design, or related field.
3–5+ years of experience as an electrical drafter in a professional environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD electrical (required); experience with Revit, MicroStation, or other CAD platforms is a plus.
Strong understanding of electrical design concepts, symbols, and construction documentation.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NFPA).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in drafting for power distribution, building systems, control systems, telecommunications.
Knowledge of BIM workflows or electrical modeling.
Experience with document control systems such as AutoCAD Vault or Bluebeam.
