Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Make minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, gas and diesel engines, transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials.

Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems; use test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.

Road‑test vehicles to confirm correct operation and diagnose remaining issues.

Identify problems, assess data accuracy, and generate evaluation alternatives using sound judgment.

Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck; conduct periodic reconciliation.

Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.

Work effectively with clients and customers to assess needs and resolve problems.

Prioritize tasks and allocate time efficiently to meet tight schedules.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.

Document work according to company standards; upload pictures and parts information on Repair Orders (RO) using iOS devices and the TRAIT application.

Complete DOT forms and all other required documentation promptly.

Operate independently and manage own daily schedule.

Maintain high productivity, meeting or exceeding standard repair times.

Procure approved parts from local and national vendors.

Communicate with management and support teams to obtain repair approvals and purchase order numbers.

Perform all work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the job.

Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months of hire.

Complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.

Submit a current and valid DOT medical card with over four (4) months remaining or complete a DOT physical if validity is less.

Be at least 21 years old (interstate commerce regulations).

Hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.

Background: Clean driving record; safe driving required.

Hourly base pay rate is $26.73 – $40.10 per hour. The rate may vary within the anticipated range based on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission and incentive programs. Employees receive a minimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off each month, seven paid holidays, and additional leave for bereavement, jury duty, vacations, military service, and parental care.
