POSITION SUMMARY
Manages the mechanic shop, arbitration, locksmith and post-sale inspections. Responsible to see that vehicles are processed in a timely manner. Provides resolution to problems that arise in this area.
Sells repair work to dealers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Schedules work load for the most efficient use of equipment and staff.
Participates in the auction process and troubleshoots as necessary.
Participates in staff meetings providing direction and support for the growth of the company.
Increases customer base through networking with area auto dealers and advertising.
Communicates with other departments and/or customers providing service estimates.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS COMPETENCIES
Must be familiar with automotive service computer programs.
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to prioritize work to meet the weekly auction schedule.
Must be up-to-date on OSHA requirements and able to train employees as needed.
Must be able to control supply inventories based on needs.
Must be able to communicate well with all levels.
Must be able to counsel and discipline in line with all federal and state laws.
Must be able to develop a supplier network based on quality and cost.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or its equivalent as a minimum. Associate's degree or higher in business or related degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
At least three years as a service manager or in a comparable position.
At least two years of supervisory experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to learn company-specific computer programs.
