Position Overview Immigration Paralegal
Essential Functions
Assisting and supporting attorneys in the preparation and filing of immigration applications, including immigrant visa petitions, applications for permanent residency, naturalization applications, PERMs, Preference Petitions, and Adjustment of Status Applications.
Liaising with relevant government agencies including USCIS, ICE, CBP, U.S. Department of State, and U.S. Department of Labor.
Analyzing, reviewing, and organizing documents and data from materials produced; preparing and coordinating document production and responses to requests.
Preparing job descriptions.
Assisting attorneys with gathering evidence, preparing declarations and supporting documents, preparing evidence and exhibits, and complying with procedural requirements and filing deadlines for cases in the Immigration Court.
Assisting and supporting attorneys in obtaining civil and criminal court records for both immigration matters.
Analyzing and reviewing case details and determining future actions.
Preparing responses to audit requests.
Demonstrating basic strategic thinking and initiative with case assignments.
Maintaining calendars, providing attorney billing/invoice processing support, completing reports, entering time records, and creating new file and updating client matter reports.
Addressing client case status inquiries, including steps remaining, processing times, and consular appointment issues.
Qualifications / Skills Required
Ability to manage client relationships for high‑volume clients and complex projects under short deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with various technology platforms, including Office 365, Document Management Systems, and PDF Software.
Effective communication in oral and written English.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Initiative, team orientation, and professionalism.
Ability to work independently, multi‑task, and prioritize assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
Exceptional writing skills.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required, any field but Social Sciences preferred.
