Job Description Reporting to the Body PE Robot SE Manager, the person in this role will support the Body PE department's objective of providing new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Compliance, while continuously improving our processes.
The primary responsibility of this role is to generate & facilitate outputs of the Body PE Robot SE Team for New Model Project Introduction at all North American Manufacturing Facilities.
What you’ll be doing
Develop innovative process plan distributing welds across several automated processes
Develop countermeasures to prevent problems during on-floor implementation
Study Robot SE processes and achieve all applicable KPIs
Support Digital Factory team to update virtual plant model to match floor condition
Able to support & meet deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects
Provide feedback to facilitate group development
Perform robotic welding feasibility studies in Delmia/Catia 3D (C3) platform to support new model implementation for TMNA Body PE.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering OR Automation Maintenance Technician degree OR 5 years of equivalent technical work experience New model
Body shop production preparation and/or Body design experience - 1 year
Project experience with automated / robotic process equipment – 1 year
General vehicle body structure & processing knowledge
Robot Offline Teach Program experience – 1 year
Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support project urgencies.
Ability to work 30% Overtime with peak periods of 50% or more including weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support SE Project work, or installations and trial activity.
Ability to travel up to 15% to support work at machine vendors, Toyota Manufacturing And R&D locations.
Ability to work evenings to support/attend meetings with overseas business partners.
