Our client is seeking an
Associate Designer
to join their team in New York. This full‑time hour contract role supports their boys team.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Senior Designers to manage creative and technical development of seasonal assortment from concept through production
Utilize Illustrator & Photoshop to develop CADs and hand sketches
Assist in research of seasonal trends, colors, raw materials, styling and trims
Participate in weekly fittings and provide comments
Research current trends and forecast evolution within brand identity
Communicate seasonal design intent to factories
Generate tech packs with clear garment construction and trim information for overseas factories
Submit approvals for lab dips, strike offs, etc.
Update BOMs and create PLM color codes
Create and organize fabric library
Manage design boards and sketches for meetings
Qualifications
1‑2 years apparel design experience, with interest in boys apparel
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design
Ability to hand sketch and AI sketch with Illustrator
Keen eye for color and materials
Ability to CAD and specify garments
Fluent in PLM
Detail oriented, organized, and strong communication skills
