Heavy Equipment Mechanic Location: Oklahoma City, OK

About the Role Join a team that keeps the construction industry moving. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you’ll perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, and Caterpillar equipment. You’ll work with precision and pride, ensuring every machine operates at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment and diesel engines

Complete service documentation and access internal databases accurately

Provide detailed repair estimates and pricing to customers

Follow contamination control and HAZMAT protocols

Conduct failure analysis and verify repairs through testing and adjustment

Mentor junior technicians and support team development

Complete Level I, II, and III training modules

What You Bring

Hands-on experience with mechanical repair of heavy equipment

Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety guidelines

Familiarity with diagnostic software and order processing systemsAir-conditioning certification preferred

Forklift and/or man lift certification (or willingness to obtain)

MSHA certification may be required for field roles

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Associate’s degree or technical certificate in diesel technology preferred

1–5 years of experience as a diesel or automotive technician, or equivalent

Strong communication and customer service skills

Shop & Field Roles Available

Field positions may require up to 40% travel and include on‑call responsibilities

Flexible scheduling including shift work, overtime, and emergency service calls

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58,240.00 - $104,000.00/yr.

Full benefits: health/dental/vision/401k, PTO accrual starts day 1. Tooling Account credit: Every quarter get $100 credit for tools (nice CAT branded tools). Finance the tools and have $50 deducted each week from paycheck. Offer a relocation/reimbursement package.
