Residential Construction Foreman
at
Samaritan's Purse —a role where your leadership helps rebuild communities and share the love of Jesus Christ while working with both skilled and non‑skilled volunteers across Western North Carolina.
Responsibilities
Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and serve as an effective witness for Him.
Partner with the Project Superintendent, Volunteer Coordinators, and Logistics Coordinators to design and construct homes that bring hope to the affected community.
Engage with on‑site volunteer teams, providing hands‑on training and support, guiding team members to understand their roles and contribute effectively.
Uphold the highest quality standards by overseeing project progress, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines, and maintaining exceptional craftsmanship.
Lead safety training sessions for all team members on‑site, fostering a culture of safety and ensuring tasks are performed with care and adherence to safety protocols.
Safeguard all materials and equipment at job sites by maintaining strict inventory control and enforcing security measures to prevent loss or damage.
Conduct thorough inspections of all projects to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws and codes, while effectively communicating progress and needs to volunteers and partners.
Review and streamline project paperwork alongside Volunteer and Logistics Coordinators and the Project Superintendent, ensuring transparency and clarity in operations.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
One year certificate from a college or technical school plus 3–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection.
Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred).
Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and processes.
Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
Highly effective communication skills.
