Fabricates, installs, removes and maintains sheet metal items such as ducts, gutters, down spouts, roofing, ventilators, chutes, shelves, pans and guards according to layouts, blueprints, job orders and established practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
Plans and lays out work assignments from blueprints or other specifications, sets up and operates appropriate sheet metal working machines and shapes the proper gauge sheet.
Metal by cutting, bending, forming, fitting, and assembling and installs fabricated sheetmetal pieces as required.
Completes work related paperwork and forms.
Follows safety practices and procedures and keeps work area clean.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must be willing to work overtime when required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency.
Must have at least four (4) years’ commercial journeymen level experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic performing the above stated duties.
Must have and maintain a valid state drivers’ license.
Must be able to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, reach overhead and lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check.
Physical Demands
While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must be able to hear and speak.
The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Lifts exceeding 50 pounds will be accomplished with two‑man teams and using appropriate safety equipment to efficiently accomplish the task.
