Vehicle type:
Diesel Tech Trainee Positions Pay Each Week
Hourly pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
Hours: Second shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred
Must be 18 years or older
Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Demonstrated customer service skills
Strong technical aptitude; ability to learn equipment and machinery
Quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems
Work independently and as part of a team
Represent Ryder professionally to employees and customers
Time‑management and priority‑setting skills
Track record of performance and good attendance
Personal accountability and proven results
Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office.
Beginner knowledge of machines and tools, shop management systems preferred
Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A preferred
DOT safety regulation compliance; regulatory tech
Safety‑sensitive position; age and work hours under state law
Regulated Tech
Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass Ryder drug test
Pass DOT physical
Pass Ryder road test
Pass Ryder background and vehicle check (last 3 years)
Responsibilities
Move heavy‑duty vehicles in/out of yard, wash bay, service shop or rental shop; wash and detail manually or automated; fuel vehicles properly; record fuel activity.
Perform multi‑point inspection on inbound units per company policies; check tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, washing windows, tire changes, refrigeration unit inspection; report issues to shop.
Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards; perform some facility maintenance and minor tasks as assigned.
Attend all technician training and development programs: hands‑on and online; including service island training, preventive maintenance, tire & wheel, service bay tools, HD electrical, air/hydraulic brakes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
