Bilingual legal assistant (Immigration Law)
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and bilingual (English & Spanish) paralegal with at least one year of experience to join our dynamic immigration law office. As a paralegal, you will assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration cases, conducting legal research, and ensuring clients receive the highest level of service.
Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and file immigration applications (e.g., family-based petitions, adjustment of status, citizenship applications, etc.).
Draft legal documents, including affidavits, petitions, and motions.
Assist with client intake, providing case updates, and answering client questions in both English and Spanish.
Maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Conduct legal research on immigration laws and regulations.
Communicate with government agencies (USCIS, ICE, etc.) to monitor case progress and ensure timely responses.
Attend client meetings, gather necessary documents, and assist attorneys during hearings and interviews.
Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal, preferably in immigration law.
Strong knowledge of immigration laws, procedures, and documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, legal management software, and e-filing systems.
