Responsibilities
Prepare product documentation including detailed drawings or 3D models of components or assemblies using SolidWorks or other CAD software under the direction of an engineer.
Assist in developing CAD models, 2D print layouts, BOMs, and implementing engineering Change Orders (ECO) documentation that is accurate and complete under the direction and approval of an engineer per corporate procedures.
Accurately link product information (drawings or inspection criteria) in Agile or other product data management software under the direction of an engineer.
Operate 3D printers of various technologies (FDM, SLA, etc.) including slicing software, setting up prints, monitoring printer activity, and completing post‑processing steps.
Provide administrative services (scanning, plotting, storing, distributing drawings, ordering samples, sending quote requests, etc.) to the engineering department as needed.
Prioritize work to align with departmental goals and various project teams; maintain and order engineering office supplies as required.
Document results of engineering analysis and field research that defines design requirements for new products; review progress with assigned engineer regularly and maintain timelines.
Suggest and demand accurate inputs and produce only quality product for downstream customers; maintain close contact with associated engineering groups and project teams.
Be able to adapt and function in an environment of changing priorities often under tight time constraints.
Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of role.
Qualifications
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Drafting and Design CAD and/or 1 year of relevant CAD drafting experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
Ability to draw detailed engineering drawings and 3D Solid Models based on concepts, sketches, or limited details from an engineer.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, machine shop practices and processes, and drafting standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic knowledge using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong team focus and ability to work with others, both internal and external to the organization.
Ability to work with and take direction from the engineering staff.
