We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled 3D Modeling and Texture Designer II to join our Marketing Team at Klein Tools. The 3D Modeling and Texture Designer II will own the process of high‑quality 3D mesh modeling and creation, building workflows and processes for photo‑real texturing of 3D assets from CAD. Additionally, this role will collaborate across functions to problem solve difficult challenges that arise with product accuracy and CAD availability throughout the product development cycle. This role requires an expert understanding of modeling, texturing, shading, and optimization techniques, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within the team and lead the development of 3D assets within a CGI production pipeline.

Responsibilities

Lead the retopologization process for 3D model assets into a polygonal mesh, and optimize geometry for texturing, lighting and rendering.

Organize and tag object components within the model for material assignment.

Lead the UV wrapping and texture map build process.

Rig 3D models for movement and animation.

Create and maintain 3D assets for our CG Asset library.

Collaborate with product development team to ensure product accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications

Experience working in photo‑real product rendering.

Portfolio containing product focused CG imagery and animation.

Experience with Cinema4D, Substance Painter and Adobe CC, Redshift.

Experience with SolidWorks a plus.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This role has an hourly salary range of $28 - $36/hr. In addition, you’re eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Klein Tools Inc.
