Bakker Crossing Golf Course is seeking an enthusiastic, service-driven Assistant Golf Professional who is ready to play a key role in delivering one of the best golf experiences in the region. Position Summary The Assistant Golf Professional supports all areas of golf operations, including league and tournament administration, merchandising, staff leadership, player assistance, and overall customer service. This position works collaboratively with the Head Golf Professional to uphold GreatLIFE's standards of professionalism, efficiency, and member-focused service.

You will serve as an ambassador for the GreatLIFE mission-enriching lives through golf, fitness, and healthy lifestyles-while helping create a vibrant and welcoming environment for all who visit Bakker Crossing.

Experience Required Qualifications Required

Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and golf operations.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Customer-focused, self-motivated, and team-oriented.

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays during peak season.

Experience in golf operations or customer service roles.

Preferred

PGA Associate / PGA Member or active participant in the PGA PGM Program.

Experience with Golf Genius tournament software.

Prior tournament management experience.

Essential Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Oversight

Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling staff across all golf operations (Pro Shop, Player Assistants, Outside Services).

Maintain accountability, high performance, and GreatLIFE service standards for all team members.

Foster a positive, team-oriented culture built on communication, respect, and collaboration.

Golf Operations Management

Coordinate daily operations between the golf shop, outside services, and player assistant teams.

Maintain accurate tee sheet management, POS entries, and operational reporting to maximize rounds and revenue.

Enforce course policies to ensure pace of play, safety, and a high-quality golf experience.

Support clubhouse, practice facility, golf cart, and cart storage maintenance oversight.

Provide friendly, professional service to all members, guests, and partners.

Tournament, League, & Program Support

Assist with planning and execution of leagues, corporate outings, junior programs, and club tournaments.

Utilize Golf Genius software for tournament and league administration (experience preferred).

Deliver on-course support as needed to enhance pace of play and member satisfaction.

Merchandising & Retail Operations

Assist with merchandising, inventory control, and maintaining a polished, engaging retail environment.

Support profitable and member-focused merchandise programs aligned with customer preferences.

Uphold all financial controls, fee structures, and inventory safeguards.

Member Experience & Community Engagement

Represent GreatLIFE and Bakker Crossing with enthusiasm, professionalism, and integrity.

Build relationships with members, guests, and the community to enhance loyalty and participation.

Serve as a role model for staff through positive attitude, work ethic, and leadership behavior.

Instruction & Player Development Opportunities The Assistant Golf Professional will have meaningful opportunities to contribute to coaching, instruction, and player development within the GreatLIFE community through:

Providing individual or group lessons to members and guests based on interest and availability.

Supporting or leading junior golf programming, camps, and clinics to help develop the next generation of golfers.

Assisting with the creation and enhancement of player development programs tailored to various skill levels.

Participating in GreatLIFE-wide instructional initiatives and community engagement opportunities.

Building relationships with players seeking coaching to foster long-term growth and retention.
