Legal Secretary Position

We are looking for a dedicated Legal Secretary to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. This contract to permanent position involves providing comprehensive administrative support to a family law attorney, assisting with case management, and ensuring smooth communication with clients and external parties. If you have a background in legal processes and are proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities: Manage and organize case files using MyCase case management software to ensure accurate recordkeeping and accessibility. Prepare and draft legal documents, including briefs, contracts, and agreements, while adhering to compliance standards. Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain medical records and billing statements for settlement purposes. Coordinate with insurance companies to facilitate claims and settlements in auto-collision and personal injury cases. Maintain attorney schedules and appointments, ensuring effective time management and prioritization. Conduct research on insurance laws and regulations to support case preparation and decision-making. Assist in preparing demand letters and managing settlement negotiations. Provide administrative support such as answering phone calls, managing correspondence, and maintaining office organization. Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure timely completion of case-related tasks. Monitor legal billing processes and ensure accuracy in invoicing and payments. Requirements: Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant, preferably in personal injury law. Proficiency in using case management software such as MyCase. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with insurance law and claims processes is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and external parties. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. High attention to detail in legal document preparation and case management.
