Job Overview Machinist III is responsible for operating manual machinery to support production and repair of many different compressor and engine parts needs while maintaining safe work practices and assisting the Service Shop team. Machinist III will also be responsible for the safety of operation, monitoring and troubleshooting the wastewater system daily. Perform all aspects of sampling, testing and monitoring wastewater, required to maintain compliance with federal, state & local laws governing the wastewater treatment process.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Machine parts to specifications using tools such as manual lathes and milling machines

Understand & Operate the wastewater recycle treatment system, according to Standard Operating Procedures

Perform and document various tests required to complete the wastewater treatment process daily

Have working knowledge of the operations, methods, and correct procedures of the wastewater treatment system

Responsible to ensure work area is clean, and remove all safety hazards-according to OSHA standards

Monitor meters & gauges daily, record findings on daily worksheets and record any required paperwork accurately according to federal state and local rules and regulations

Read blueprints, drawings, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work

Perform dimensional layout on all machined parts to confirm conformity to prints and other routing instructions. Ensure applicable documentation is complete ie sign off on job card, SIS (Source Inspections Sheets) etc, and computer entry

Load and touch off tooling applicable to program

Identify multiple surface finishes

Deburr and stamp parts to specifications

Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, jaw attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines

Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly

Maintain a clean work area to include emptying waste container, used oil, sweeping chips, replace broken pallets

Read job card and determine product to be produced, instructions, specifications, actual machining time, quantities, etc.

Adjust machine offsets ie wear, geometry, cutter comp, workshift, etc.

Observe all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and all safety rules / requirements such as machining guards, lifting techniques, slips and falls prevention, etc.

Run multiple types of machines

Operate all manual machine tools as required

Use advanced trade mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings,

Specifications and all varieties of precision measuring instruments

Complete all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

Minimum 0 – 2 years of experience in manual machining, lathe and mill experience in oil & gas, power, heavy equipment and hands‑on experience with wastewater treatment

Understanding of wastewater regulation and environmental impact in oil and gas

Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as dial and Vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, ball mics, etc.

Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds physically able to perform labor, prolonged periods of standing, bending, or kneeling to meet the requirement of working in the parts warehouse to put items on the shelf for storage

Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

Adapt to constantly evolving work requirements in a team environment

Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

Certification to operate a forklift, pallet jack and crane

Vo Tech Certificate

Knowledge in the following areas: Oilfield assemblies and parts

Ability to read and understand instructions; quality control; and safety

Effective verbal, written communications skills

Basic math and computer skills

Ability to read, evaluate and respond to product specifications and drawings

Familiar and comfortable with various types of manual metal cutting machinery (mechanically inclined)
