* Effectively manages assignments and priorities to ensure the fulfillment of projects, tasks, and responsibilities* Follows suggested procedures to assure the highest standards of risk management, employee safety and risk avoidance* Operates

+ light to heavy duty trucks and equipment

+ mini excavator, backhoe, by-pass pumps, forklift, aerial lift, skid steer, knuckle-boom crane, and truck mounted crane

+ various types of hand and power tools* Performs corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on lift stations, wastewater reclamation facility, and biosolids pelletizer components and equipment* Disassembles, installs, and performs mechanical repairs* Participates in the installation:

+ and repair of various size gravity and force main pipelines

+ of a wide variety of pipeline fittings (megalug, flanged, PVC, ductile iron) and pipeline repair components such as pipe restraints* Maintains air release valves by following standard operating procedure (SOP)* Demonstrates working knowledge and understanding of Wastewater Collection System maps: identify lift stations, force mains, valves, air releases* Demonstrates proficiency in Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to include: entering work order data, detailed notes, assets research, and work order close out* Sets up mobile generators and bypass pumping equipment* Possesses general knowledge and understanding of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) operations (identify alarms, navigate screens, and manipulate operations)* Installs chemical feed lines, sample pumps, disinfection equipment, pneumatic lines and associated components, etc.* Repairs, rebuilds, and services wastewater treatment plant pumps, gear drives, and other related equipment* Implements Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) procedures following the departments SOP* Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees and the general public* Performs after hours stand-by duties as required* All essential duties and responsibilities covered under the UM I job description* Independently performs maintenance activities (preventative, predictive, corrective) on equipment associated with the wastewater reclamation facility and lift stations; items include (but not limited to) various types of pumps, (submersible, centrifugal, diaphragm, piston, positive displacement), gearboxes, biosolids equipment, barscreens, grit systems, blowers, belt filter press, conveyors shakers, induced draft (ID) fan, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer, Dryer Drum Inspection, etc.* Performs laser alignment/sheave alignment on rotating equipment* Performs vibration analysis on rotating equipment* Trains and mentors UM I as required, needed or directed by the UM Senior or Utilities Supervisor* All essential duties and responsibilities covered under the UM I and II job description* Advanced proficiency in Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to include: entering work order data and detailed notes, assets research, review and quality assurance and quality control before work order close out* Verify completion and close out of work orders using CMMS* Actively participates in capital improvement plan (CIP) projects concerning the wastewater reclamation facility and/or Collections System* Evaluate preventative and predictive maintenance reports and recommends appropriate corrective actions* Train, mentor and coach UM I and UM II as required* Approve installation and repair plans submitted by UM II* Coordinate purchasing with departmental, administrative, and warehouse staff* Provide equipment updates to staff supervisors and managers* Research and recommend new products and equipment for maintenance staff* Assumes duties of Utilities Supervisor in his/her absence* High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and one (1) year in a Mechanical related field or position* Class "B" CDL with Tanker endorsement (CDL) **Required for UM Sr,** or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire* For continued employment, the following training must be completed:

+ Within one year from hire date:

- Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) training

- Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector Training Program

- Disaster Preparedness / Response Plan Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Training Incident Command System (ICS) 100

- Confined Space Training

- Trench Safety/ Competent Person Training

- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) / First Aid Training

- Lock-out/tag-out certification

- Perform standby duties after 1 year or as designated by supervisor

- Fork Lift / Aerial Lift Certified (On-site training)

+ Within two years from hire date:

- Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA) Wastewater Collections "C" Certification

- Completion of approved course or demonstrated equivalent knowledge skills and abilities* Valid Driver's License - **(All levels)*** All levels and UM II noted above* Two (2) years as a UM I or three (3) years in an industrial maintenance/mechanical related field or equivalent, verifiable work experience* Class "B" CDL with Tanker endorsement (CDL) or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire* For continued employment, the following training must be completed* Within one year from hire date:

+ Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Training course – Incident Command System (ICS), 200, 700 and 800

+ Crane operator certification/Rigging course

+ Demonstrated proficiency in all categories outlined in the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician Guideline Manual

+ Industrial Mechanics Courses (complete 3 of 7)

+ Bearing & Lubrication (required)

+ Laser Alignment (required)

+ Vibration Analysis

+ Thermography Course

+ Oil Analysis Course

+ Basic Welding Class

+ Other related maintenance or mechanical course approved by Supervisor* Within two years from hire date:

+ Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA) Wastewater Collections "B" Certification* All levels and UM Sr. noted above* 2 years as a UM II or 5 years in an industrial maintenance mechanical related field or equivalent verifiable work experience* Class "B" CDL with Tanker endorsement* Prior experience as a crew leader and/or project lead* Industrial Mechanics Courses (complete 3 of 4)* Vibration Analysis* Thermography Course* Basic Welding* Other related maintenance or mechanical course approved by Supervisor* Within two years from hire date or promotion:

+ Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA) Wastewater Collections "A" Certification* Complete a minimum of 80 hours annual apprenticeship in the wastewater reclamation facility (WWRF) or Lift Station Program – Full 8 hour days* Annually, complete a minimum of 40 hours of cross-training at the WWRF or Lift Stations* Work in adverse weather conditions as well as emergency situations including holidays and weekends* Skilled in proper use of mechanic's tools and shop equipment* All Knowledge, Skills and Abilities under the UM I job description* Knowledge of advanced methods and techniques used in the:

+ installation, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of mechanical equipment
