Provide dog training services to Paws Pet Resort customers. Offer stay‑and‑train, private, group, and specialty training as appropriate. Sell or recommend retail items as appropriate for training sessions (e.g., leads, collars, lure treats). Follow the specified training program outlines. Promptly respond to customer inquiries. Promote services by participating in center events. Provide excellent customer service by paying attention to the specific needs of dog owners. Keep manager and customer service staff current on class offerings. Maintain class and other training schedules. Keep training area(s) clean and clean up after use. Handle dogs appropriately in the center. Report any pet or pet health or customer concerns promptly to the center manager. Uphold the mission and values of Paws Pet Resort and Best Friends Pet Care, Inc. and work within the guidelines specified in Best Friends’ policies and procedures. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Complete Safe Handling training. Requirements
Education / Experience
Appropriate education in dog training via schooling or internship with a professional dog trainer. Minimum of 2 years of professional dog training experience. Physical Requirements
Must be able to work weekdays, evenings and weekends as dictated by the class/training schedule. Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently and be on feet for full shifts. Must be able to work on a computer system. Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions. Personal Qualities
Must display solid dog training skills. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills. Must possess a love of animals. Cannot compete directly with Best Friends or solicit Best Friends’ customers for personal business. Travel
Minimal travel as required for business outreach and events. Seniority Level
