Employer Overview A Professional Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced tax professional to join their high-net-worth team as Partner.

Responsibilities

Integrate an existing high-net-worth (HNW) client portfolio into the firm’s platform while leveraging internal resources to further grow and enhance the practice.

Provide comprehensive, year-round tax planning and advisory services to HNW individuals, families, and their related entities, including trusts, estates, partnerships, and S corporations.

Design and implement advanced estate, gift, and wealth transfer strategies to reduce tax exposure and preserve multigenerational wealth.

Oversee all aspects of tax compliance for the client base and team, including the review of complex federal, state, local, and international tax returns and projections.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities by cultivating relationships with referral sources such as attorneys, wealth advisors, and family office professionals to support sustained growth.

Lead and develop a team of tax professionals, promoting collaboration, mentoring staff, and managing engagement planning and execution to ensure efficiency and high-quality delivery.

Partner with internal teams and external advisors to deliver integrated, holistic wealth management solutions.

Stay current on evolving tax laws, regulatory developments, and industry trends to provide proactive, high-value client guidance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline required;

active CPA license or Juris Doctor (JD) is required.

10+ years of progressive experience in tax planning and compliance for HNW/UHNW clients, ideally within a public accounting or advisory firm environment.

Advanced technical expertise in individual, trust, gift, and estate taxation, with working knowledge of partnership and corporate taxation, multi-state (SALT), and international tax matters.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex concepts and build strong, trusted relationships with sophisticated clients and internal stakeholders.

Proven business development and sales experience, supported by an entrepreneurial mindset and a history of growing client relationships and firm presence.

Demonstrated leadership, people management, and problem-solving capabilities, with a strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, and high-quality client service.

High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, discretion, adaptability, and a dedication to continuous learning in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
