Job Overview
Join Roche Bros. as a Grocery Clerk where you will stock merchandise on shelves and displays throughout the department in a careful, clean, neat, and expedient manner. You will ensure all products are fresh, rotated, and well stocked while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
Declare ownership of the “Golden Rule” and work with associates to build a strong grocery team.
Perform retail operations such as receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries in designated areas.
Rotate products in display cases, coolers, and freezers using first‑in, first‑out (FIFO) policy.
Clean shelves, build displays, maintain organization and straighten blocked displays.
Return overstock to the stockroom in an organized manner.
Perform price changes when necessary and monitor prices for accuracy.
Notify the grocery manager of potential shrink problems, out‑of‑stock items, security issues, and customer requests or complaints.
Practice the “Cleaner’s Creed” and follow proper sanitation procedures.
Maintain safe temperature in cooler and display areas and report refrigeration failure immediately.
Keep sales and work areas swept, clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment and tools.
Assist the front end with bagging during busy times.
Present a favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene, and business attitude.
Dispose of trash properly.
Complete onboarding e‑learning and checklist within 30 days of hire.
Other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Must be 16 years of age; (18 to use compactor).
Complete training in the grocery operation.
Ability to prioritize workload and sense of urgency.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow instructions.
Work a schedule based on the business needs of the store location.
Authorized to work within the U.S.
Physical Demands
Sitting, pulling up to 500 lbs, climbing up to 8 feet.
Walking, carrying and lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing up to 500 lbs, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling, and reaching.
Standing on concrete or similar surfaces, reaching at waist or overhead, seeing and hearing.
Work Environment Work inside and outside the store, with potential exposure to cold temperatures. Exposure to loud noise, cluttered floors, sharp objects, skin irritants, toxic materials, dust, fumes, and sprays may occur.
Salary Range Pay range for this position is $15.00 – $17.90 per hour.
