Job Title: Senior Social Media Strategist Reports to: Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs or Vice President of Programs Location: Hybrid (Orange County, CA) Employment Status: Full‑Time/Salaried/Exempt

Overview The Senior Social Media Strategist serves as the primary advisor and content creator for a senior executive, managing their social presence across all platforms. The role aligns with Live Action’s brand, broader communications, and PR strategy, working closely with the Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs to support organizational‑level communications. It blends publicist and social media expertise, ideal for someone with a communications/PR background who understands shaping public perception, engaging online audiences, and advising high‑level executives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic social media plan that aligns with Live Action’s messaging and communication goals.

Collaborate with the senior executive to ensure social posts reflect voice, tone, and values, advising on optimal messaging, timing, and audience nuances.

Oversee the creation, editing, and curation of content (text, images, video, email) for key social media accounts, ensuring consistency and quality.

Manage media relations on social platforms, collaborating with the communications and marketing team.

Advise on post perception and suggest adjustments based on external feedback, trends, or crisis management needs.

Respond to sensitive issues, public controversies, and crisis situations in real‑time, ensuring consistent strategic messaging.

Assist in preparing organizational‑level communications, events, press releases, and media statements.

Track and analyze social media performance, providing regular reports and insights on engagement, trends, and growth.

Support preparation for media interviews, press releases, and public speaking engagements, advising on messaging and content for social media.

Plan long‑term content that supports Live Action’s advocacy, campaigns, and overall strategy.

Skills & Experience

Extensive background in public relations, social media strategy, or communications.

Proven ability to manage high‑level executive social media accounts and communicate their brand.

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

Adaptability to changes in public opinion, political climate, and media landscape.

Comfortable advising and mentoring senior leaders.

Strong understanding of crisis communication and media relations.
