Senior FOIA Paralegal Department: Legal Employment Type: Full Time, Mid-Level

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) Provided Pay Range Base Pay Range: $65,357.76/yr – $94,405.65/yr

Responsibilities

Conduct searches and analyze result sets to separate non‑responsive documents from responsive ones and screen responsive documents for privilege or FOIA exemptions.

Redact and code responsive documents.

Perform legal research.

Draft legal documents.

Consistently deliver high‑quality work under extreme pressure.

Obtain a government security clearance.

Qualifications

Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school (at least one year of study).

At least one year of litigation paralegal experience (trial experience very helpful).

Experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, and/or other eDiscovery and document review tools strongly desired.

Experience processing FOIA requests.

Demonstrated knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations; applying exemptions.

Basic legal knowledge, including citation and use of LEXIS/Westlaw for research.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.

Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures.

Ideal Candidate

Two years experience using Nuix Investigate for document review and tagging.

Two years experience processing FOIA requests for federal agencies.

Fluency in statutory and regulatory guidelines to FOIA responses.
