Responsibilities Role Overview
REI Systems is seeking a high-velocity Capture Manager / Director to lead short-cycle capture efforts supporting Army AOS technology challenges, as well as other non-traditional acquisition captures within the Department of Defense (DoD). This role is purpose-built for an accelerated capture environment where timelines are compressed, requirements may be evolving, and success depends on rapid decision-making, technical fluency, and close customer engagement.
Unlike traditional single-award capture roles, this position focuses on technology challenges, CSOs, OTAs, and prototype-driven software acquisition pathways, requiring a leader who can translate mission problems into compelling, executable solution submissions under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities – Capture Execution & Strategy
Lead end-to-end capture execution for Army AOS technology challenges
Rapidly assess fit/no-fit decisions under compressed timelines
Develop concise win strategies optimized for short-cycle evaluations
Orchestrate parallel capture efforts as required
Customer & Account Alignment
Partner with DoW BD leadership and Army account teams
Engage Army AOS stakeholders to clarify intent and refine submissions
Support pre-challenge shaping and follow-on positioning
Technical & Partner Coordination
Translate mission needs into actionable technical solutions
Coordinate internal engineering and SME resources
Integrate non-traditional vendors and niche partners
Drive rapid teaming, pricing, and compliance alignment
Process & Playbook Development
Establish a repeatable tech-challenge capture playbook
Capture lessons learned to improve speed and outcomes
Balance agility with disciplined execution
Qualifications Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience within the DoD (we value military / civilian workforce experience), with at least 5 years focused on DoD capture
Experience with compressed acquisition timelines (30–60 days or less)
Knowledge of OTAs, CSOs, and alternative acquisition pathways
Army or DoD innovation organization experience
U.S. citizenship required; clearance preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Direct Army / SOCOM Rapid Acquisition experience
Non-traditional defense contractor or startup exposure
Prototype-to-scale transition experience
Software, cloud, AI, or digital modernization background
