Overview
The Deli Clerk works in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals. Sprouts Farmers Market – one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers – is looking for team members passionate about food who enjoy serving customers and maintaining a clean, friendly environment. Responsibilities
Assist customers in making healthy food choices and prepare “fresh and easy meals.” Provide high-level customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged and presented. Maintain cleanliness of the deli department area, including shelves, floors, equipment and displays. Fill, maintain and rotate products and displays. Prepare special orders and party trays. Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures. Receive, inspect and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature and quality. Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant or related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience. Dependable, reliable and friendly with a positive attitude. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team environment. Ability to lift or carry up to 70 lbs. horizontally or vertically for up to 4 hours and stand continuously for 8 hours per shift. Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area. Operate slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment and assist in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition. Adhere to all safety, health and Weights and Measures regulations; hold a Food Handlers permit. Work in cooler and freezer temperature environments. Other related duties as assigned. Benefits
