Section Editor's are responsible for the entire production and final product of their respective section. The paper comes out monthly.
Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks) Essential Job Functions:
Gather story ideas for every issue.
Assign stories to writers
Write headlines for your stories
Ensure all editorial content is based on verifiable facts
Arrive prepared and on time for weekly meetings.
Communicate with the Layout/Design Editor about your section.
Specific Functional Job Requirements Education Requirements
HS Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements Newsroom experience preferred. Good spoken English skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Willingness to learn.
Knowledge Knowledge of AP Style preferred.
Skills Excellent written communication skills.
Personal Requirements Ability to work as part of a team.
