We are seeking a highly skilled Power Distribution & Make Ready Designer to join our innovative team. This position is crucial for designing and planning efficient power distribution systems that meet modern demands while ensuring the integration of cutting-edge technologies. The ideal candidate will not only contribute to the physical aspects of utility design but also to the smart grid components that enhance predictive maintenance and energy distribution. Design and prepare detailed drawings and specifications for power distribution lines and systems. Evaluate the existing utility pole conditions and make ready work required for new attachments or system upgrades. Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to incorporate advanced technologies into grid design, focusing on sustainability and efficiency. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards. Conduct field investigations and provide technical support for troubleshooting and problem resolution. Assist in the development and implementation of machine learning models to predict system loads and enhance grid performance. Proficient in CAD and other engineering software for electrical system design. Strong understanding of electrical theory, power distribution principles, and make-ready engineering. Experience with GIS applications in utility settings. Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Certification in CAD design. Training or certification in GIS applications is a plus.
