You will be responsible for managing both incoming shipments and preparing outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. A strong understanding of logistics processes, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle physical tasks are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Accurately document all received items in the warehouse management system.
- Prepare, pack, and label outgoing shipments according to customer specifications and carrier requirements.
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock counts.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the shipping and receiving areas.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies in shipments or inventory.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Support efficient warehouse operations through diligent work in shipping and receiving.
- Participate in all mandatory safety training and promote a safety-first culture.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Capability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification a plus).
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
