We are looking for a skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in QuickBooks Desktop to manage and oversee various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while contributing to key financial operations. Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Desktop, including handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and managing general ledger entries. Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between financial records and bank statements. Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing necessary documentation and reports. Generate detailed financial statements and customized reports to support management decision-making. Resolve discrepancies in QuickBooks Desktop, including troubleshooting data entry errors and reconciliation issues. Support audits by organizing financial records and addressing auditor inquiries. Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and relevant regulatory standards. Collaborate with other departments to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives. Provide training and technical support to staff using QuickBooks Desktop. Stay updated on software updates and implement necessary changes within QuickBooks Desktop. Requirements: Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with QuickBooks Desktop. Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. Familiarity with bank reconciliations and financial reporting. Knowledge of standard accounting practices and principles.
