Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties; the purpose of the property inspection is to verify occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant. Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes. Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned. Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards. Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments. Complete a short form in an app. Spend extended periods driving with multiple stops in the assigned territory. Requirements
Computer with an internet connection Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will pay for your own gas) Smartphone (Android or iPhone) Printer Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate and rates vary by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30-$40 per hour. Depending on county and urban vs. rural conditions, you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month, working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum inspections per month, but work is generally consistent month to month. Earn more as you become established or if you have greater availability to inspect or cover a larger territory.
