FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Occupation Mortgage Field Services Inspector.
Responsibilities
Perform occupancy verifications; most inspections last 5-6 minutes.
Complete inspections within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in a mobile application.
Drive extended periods with numerous stops within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage a plus; you pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary based on county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of
$30-$40 per hour.
Depending on the county and if it is urban or rural you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month, working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates; higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory.
No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
