Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; however, you must effectively manage time and meet deadlines. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.
Pay and Hours
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. You can earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on county and volume, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates; higher volume counties offer lower rates.
No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
Responsibilities
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in a mobile application.
Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day within the assigned territory.
Most inspections are only 5‑6 minutes.

Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage; you will pay your own gas
