DLO Phlebotomy Service Rep I

Location: Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, OK
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Essential Functions of Employment with DLO Show up for work, on time & prepared each scheduled work day. Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you, including those you are fully qualified to perform, and others you may be over‑qualified to perform. Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each scheduled work day and work as a collaborative team member with your teammates on a daily basis.
Collection of blood and urine specimens using various techniques and devices from an oncology patient population. Pull patient orders from EPIC and accession patient information and tests into the Cerner system. Process all types of specimens collected. Communicate effectively and politely with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
Knowledge of Venipuncture techniques using vacutainer needles and hubs, butterfly devices, safety needle and syringes.
Qualifications
Proficiency in collecting blood specimens from all age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics.
Ability to handle a large volume of patients in a timely manner.
Ability to successfully interact with all DLO departments and DLO customers.
Ability to use multiple computer systems and keyboard.
May need to meet the client's needs by coming in early, staying late, or working additional days when necessary.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Lift light to moderately heavy objects. Normal performance may require lifting and carrying objects: 1–15 lbs regularly; 16–25 lbs occasionally; 26–40 lbs seldom; over 41 lbs requires assistance.
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time; requires long hours of eye and hand coordination.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
Position may require travel.
Extensive use of phone and PC.
Fine dexterity with hands/steadiness.
Talking, walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.
