Edgewood Tahoe
The Retail Manager at Edgewood Tahoe Resort is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and guest satisfaction of all retail outlets at our Forbes-rated luxury resort and world-class golf destination. This includes oversight of multiple unique retail environments such as the golf pro shop, resort boutique, and adventure shop. The ideal candidate brings a blend of luxury brand management, team leadership, merchandising expertise, and a deep commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience consistent with a five-star standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations of all retail outlets to ensure consistency in service, presentation, and product offering.
Establish and enforce high standards for visual merchandising, inventory control, and customer engagement.
Drive revenue through creative merchandising strategies, seasonal campaigns, and guest-centric initiatives.
Monitor inventory levels, purchasing, receiving, and loss prevention procedures to optimize profitability.
Collaborate with Finance and Procurement teams to manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
Cultivate a culture of excellence, luxury service, and team accountability across all retail touchpoints.
Conduct ongoing training on product knowledge, Forbes service standards, and retail best practices.
Ensure all retail operations reflect the luxury brand ethos of the resort and exceed guest expectations.
Collaborate with Golf to ensure consistent retail standards across all outlets, including the Pro Shop, Boutique, and Adventure Center.
Attend retail trade shows and industry events to identify emerging trends, source new products, and maintain vendor relationships.
Provide guidance and training to Pro Shop team members on merchandise presentation, visual standards, and product knowledge.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest feedback and resolve service issues with discretion.
Partner with Golf, Purchasing, Resort Experience, and Hospitality teams to align retail strategies with broader resort goals.
Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of retail associates, and supervisors.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
3 years of retail management experience, preferably in a Forbes-rated resort, luxury hotel, or high-end golf operation.
Strong knowledge of high-end fashion, accessories, and lifestyle products.
Proven track record of driving revenue, managing budgets, and leading diverse teams.
Strong knowledge of merchandising, visual display standards, and luxury consumer behavior.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and retail analytics.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
