Primary Role:
Kentucky State Police posts are the nerve center of the agency's operations. It is here that our swornofficers work on the front lines protecting the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The road units alone do notfully encompass the network of personnel ensuring KSP meets the mission we have been given. It takes supportpersonnel both at post and across the state. The Administrative Specialist Senior at post has theresponsibility to create a work environment where troopers, detectives, and dispatchers can thrive. The perfectcandidate will use their skills to ensure the administrative functions supporting the post operations areaccomplished daily.
Key Responsibilities: Provide professional and technical support to the commander and staff in performing administrativefunctions such as completing travel vouchers, entering all employees time in the Kentucky Human Resource Information System (KHRIS), and maintainingtraining records for employees. Supervise and train other post administrative personnel. Serve as the confidential clerk to the commander of the post. Organize, prepare, and ensure technical accuracy of criminal cases for investigating officers,the Commonwealth, and defense attorneys. Maintain files in accordance with KSP General Order AM-C-6. Prepare and ensure accuracy of correspondence for post personnel. Answer telephone and written inquiries from other agencies and public. Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
