The CAD Designer is responsible for preparing accurate, detailed, and high-quality computer-aided design (CAD) drawings to support engineering, architectural, or construction projects. Working remotely, this role collaborates with engineers, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to translate design concepts and specifications into technical drawings that meet project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, modify, and maintain CAD drawings, layouts, and technical plans
Interpret design sketches, specifications, and engineering calculations
Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and organizational drafting practices
Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project teams to incorporate design changes
Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of drawings
Maintain organized electronic drawing files and version control
Support design reviews, revisions, and project documentation
Assist with the preparation of construction documents and as-built drawings
Adhere to project schedules and deliverables in a remote work environment
Participate in continuous improvement of drafting standards and processes
Required Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a CAD Designer or Drafter
Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, or similar tools
Strong understanding of drafting standards, symbols, and conventions
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, or electrical design
Familiarity with BIM workflows and collaboration tools
Experience working on commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of U.S. building codes and construction documentation standards
Compensation
Salary Range: $60,000 – $90,000 per year, based on experience, software proficiency, and technical specialization
