This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Scott AFB, Illinois.
Duties
Serves as a senior Financial Management Specialist instructing others in specific tasks and job techniques. Checks work in progress and reviews completed work. Provides on-the-job training to new employees and employees in trainee positions.
Provides requirements and participates in automation projects related to automated financial systems. Assists in the design of new and revised financial management and accounting automated processes.
Participates in the quality assurance and internal management control program for financial management. Conducts quality assurance activities by studying accounts, reports, and procedures in the financial management systems.
Advises on financial management issues and provides the information management needs to make decisions regarding effective and efficient use of resources.
Ensures that all obligations are properly and timely recorded, adjusted, and liquidated in the financial management and accounting system.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
This national security position may require access to classified information and requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959).
Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after the latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification Level 2.
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Qualifications Time in Grade
For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS‑11 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS‑11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS‑11 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized Experience at the GS-12 is defined as: Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving a wide range of financial and accounting problems; or experience utilizing financial systems to research and analyze data.
Education There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level.
Additional Information
As a condition of employment, you may be required to serve a 1‑year probationary period during which we’ll evaluate whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
Individuals tentatively selected for drug‑testing designated positions will be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drugs prior to appointment or placement.

Salary plus Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) is authorized. This rate is subject to change without notice.
This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. In accordance with Public Law 112‑81 and DoD Policy the incumbent shall comply with the requirements of the DoD FM Certification Program.
Employee is subject to recall or call back during off‑shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
