We are the leading provider of on-site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide, with mobile on-site service for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. We also service customers through 50+ nationwide service centers offering accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair, supported by a 24/7 in-house call-center and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance services available anywhere, anytime. Fleet Services is currently hiring a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician. The Lead Mobile Diesel Technician will perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, and diagnostics (mechanical/hydraulic/electrical/electronic). The role includes mentoring technicians, on-site leadership, and collaboration with the Mobile Technician Manager. The Lead may perform duties of Mobile Technician Manager in their absence. Duties

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems including electrical, braking, cooling, air conditioning, engine electronics, transmissions, and more. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation. Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and evaluate alternatives. Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Interact with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work activities and time allocations. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document work according to company standards and upload RO photos, parts used, and findings via the TRAIT app on an iOS device. Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely fashion. Work independently and manage daily schedules; maintain productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed for repairs. Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates and discuss RO findings. Comply with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Support inventory reconciliation and mentor junior technicians on best practices to stay within standard repair times. Assist Mobile Tech Manager with quality control inspections of work performed by Mobile Diesel Technicians. Requirements

High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of related experience; or alternative combinations such as higher-level degree/certification with 5 years of experience; or 9 years in a related field. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Obtain ASE C1 (Service Consultant) within 18 months. Obtain ASE 608/609 certification within 18 months. DOT/FMCSA requirements: able to pass pre-employment background screening and DOT medical examination. DOT medical card with more than four months remaining may substitute for a DOT physical; if four months or less remain, a DOT physical is required. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations; valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File. Certifications

Required within 18 months:

ASE T8 (PMI), ASE 608/609, ASE C1 (Service Consultant) Preferred:

ASE T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, L1, L2 certifications Skills & Abilities

Ability to understand the implications of new information for problem-solving and decision-making. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; capable of moderately heavy labor. Strong communication skills for concise, organized information exchange. Ability to determine appropriate tools and equipment and assess distances and spatial relationships. Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives and solutions.
