Are you ready to set the standard for Premium apparel?
Main purpose of the Senior Product Developer role For a candidate who will closely collaborate with the CFT team to ensure the completion of garments is executed from concept through production with the highest quality and within cost parameters. This position will utilize his or her problem-solving, multi-tasking and communication skills to help oversee the day-to-day development which includes ensuring brands are on calendar.
Major Responsibilities
Communicate daily with manufacturers to ensure product specifications, quality standards and deadlines are met
Coordinate approval of wash/trim/color details between design and vendors
Maintain data accuracy across all platforms and departments
Attend fittings to ensure product is on calendar and within cost parameters and problem solve with issues that arise
Allocate product against manufacturers for the best possible execution which includes maintaining proper vendor capacities
Negotiate FOB cost and effectively consolidate suppliers for cost leverage
Act as liaison between R&D, Design & Buying to ensure fabric MOQs and cost are within targets
Cultivate and train assistants which includes refining their development process
Manage and own WIPs and costing processes for a specific brand and/or category from concept through production
Independently own calendar deadlines
Own product development from concept to TOP phase
Be the main point of contact and communicator between all cross-functional departments: Buying, R&D, Design, Tech, Supply Chain and Purchasing
Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management
Competencies
Comprehend the beginning, middle and end of product development processes specifically for overseas vendors
Must have the ability to handle a large amount of SKUs
Possess strong knowledge in garment construction and specifications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Deadline focused and goal driven
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and short lead calendar (5 months)
Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years’ experience in a similar role
Work experience with overseas vendors specifically
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and knowledge of CAD a plus but not required
Excellent computer skills including Excel and Internet research
Solution oriented and critical thinker
Deadline focused and goal driven
Must be able to perform efficiently with tight deadlines
Team player and ability to multitask
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Fashion, Product Development or similar field
Strong fabric knowledge
Experience with costing and overseas vendor communication
